Denise Herd is the visionary leader of the successful integrated marketing and communications company, Herd Strategies. Denise has a proven track record in branding, marketing, public relations, creative design and communications training with some of the world’s most notable brands and personalities.
Herd is passionate about developing businesses, and is a certified facilitator of the Kauffman Foundation FastTrac New Venture program guiding startup business owners through all phases of ownership. She currently serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Shalom Healthcare Center and the Villages. Herd is also vice-chair of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Advisory Council, a graduate of the United Way Leadership Training and Development Program and the Stanley K. Lacey Executive Leadership Series, Class XXII. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and an adjunct professor with the IUPUI Department of Journalism.
Herd is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2016 Public Relations Society of America Pinnacle Award, the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, the International Association of Business Communicators Gold Quill Award, the International Association of Business Communicators Epic Award, the Public Relations Society of America Keystone Award, the Center for Leadership Development “Lis Daily Achievement Award in Mass Media” and the Radio One “Today’s Woman of Excellence” award.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Clark-Atlanta University and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
